In order to make a copy of any piece of equipment: Make sure the game
is not paused. Open your inventory and place the item you want to copy
in space. Exit the inventory and pause the game. Open your inventory
again and pick the item back up. Close your inventory. Without unpausing,
save and exit to menu and then re-enter the game.

There will be a copy of the equipment both in space, and in your inventory.
Multiple items can be copied this way at one time. The items can be kept
and installed on your ships or sold for infinite scrap and upgrades. By
starting a new game, gaining a lot of scrap this way, then dying ASAP,
you can also use this glitch gain fast experience.
